This is the character design for the Protagonist of my Thesis film. I wanted to go for a middle-aged individual who has a degree of maturity and intensity, but also has maintained a sense of childlike wonder and innocence despite his hardships. Much of the film will take place at night in the dark, and so I wanted to create a silhouette that is easily read and understood. Above all else he needed to be portrayed as a survivor, a scavenger, one that is resourceful and carries with him a solution to every problem he expects to encounter in his travels.
