This character was made for Insecticide, a group student film for UCF SVAD's Emerging Media - Experiment Animation track. My goal was to make a unique worm-like character with a high degree of movement and maneuverability. The hard carapace shells and large pincers created a unique silhouette, making it more than just an average worm monster. The tendril like mouth and teeth allowed for a lot of emotion and expression in a character without a traditional face.
